Swarmchestrate at the 31st IEEE ICE/ITMC

Swarmchestrate was present at the 31st International Conference on Engineering, Technology and Innovation, which took place in UPV Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain.

During the Special Session: Cognitive Computing Continuum, on June 16, 2025, Swarmchestrate and fellow projects funded by Horizon Europe EMPYREAN, MYRTUS, HYPER AI, ENACT and CoGNETs discussed:

  • the commonalities across all projects and the encouragement of using standardised approaches;
  • the challenges arising from data unavailability for model training, and how to best cope with it; and
  • the different approaches adopted in each project and the motivation behind them.

Dr. Amjad Ullah of the Edinburgh Napier University represented Swarmchestrate, focusing mainly on the impact and results of the project: the decentralised approach to orchestration and the notion of self-organisation, the concept of swarms and the incorporation of trust and reputation into orchestration decisions.
